I happened upon my newest creative crush as I often do, through happenstance (and Chris).
Imagine you’re traveling. Go with me here. You’ve been roaming around a foreign country; you can pick whatever one fits your fantasy best. So you’ve gone to the museums, parks, and restaurants. You’ve stumbled along asking directions, ordering a latte and saying hello. Finally you plunk yourself down at the local café, fire up your laptop to connect with someone, anyone, when suddenly you hear the people at the table next to you speaking your language. Sunbeams burst through the clouds and you no longer feel alone. That is what it was like for me when I fell upon INFJoe’s Blog.
Have you ever heard of Meyer’s Briggs? You know one of those personality tests that place you into boxes. Well, I am a resounding INFJ (Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, judging), one of the diplomats, an idealist. Think Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Eleanor Roosevelt and Nelson Mandela. Not bad company to keep, but you also need to think Mel Gibson. So you can imagine the occasional inappropriate breakdown may occur. We INFJs are a rare breed making up only 1-3% of the population.
So for me every one of INFJoe’s cartoons spoke. I laughed, cried, cringed and settled into my bones, connecting the best way an introvert can with a new stranger- screen to screen. I suspect even if you aren’t an INFJ or even an Introvert you’ll appreciate his artistry.
The last time I took the test, I scored as an ISFJ: Introvert, Sensing, Feeling, Judging. I used to score as INFJ. I’m not sure what the difference between sensing and intuitive might be, but I think it’s relatively minor. The key is that I am still (and will always be) an introvert and in good company 🙂
Good company indeed.
INTJ over here, might hafta go figure out how far apart that T is from your F now
Ah Red you think, I feel. We are quite close really. The I, N and J make us kindred spirits. We both passionately fight for what we believe but simply approach it with a different driver, you with your head,me with my heart. I suspect we’d arrive in the same place at the end.
That’s interesting cos I’d have thought I went with my heart more…maybe that’s why I only scored 1% on my T
1% T sounds about right on a swinging pendulum. I’d say you’re all heart. 🙂 Perhaps you really are an INFJ.
You are too sweet Dana
blah…..really I’m not. I’m all piss and vinegar. 😉
…and I love it!
