I don’t know if these belong in Favorite Things or Creative Crushes. It is a hybrid really- each thing I’m craving has an artist behind it I’m ÜBER crushing on. First up, this Artwork by Katie Rodgers (Paper Fashion) that was made into … Continue reading
Okay so Bourbon and Boots went ahead and introduced, for a limited time, their Curio Collection. As a girl we had a wall mounted antique coffee grinder. It was the highlight of our kitchen. Anytime anyone came to visit, the first thing they wanted to do was give the grinder a go. As I begin to cook for myself again and work with lots of nut flours I miss the grinder. It occurred to me it would be the perfect tool to make my own flour at home. And just as I waxed nostalgic what should arrive in my inbox but an email with the coffee grinder. Hurry to B&B before everything is gone. There is only 3 days left.
Today’s Besotted is dedicated to the website Bourbon & Boots. I was introduced to Spotify through various song lists of theirs and have been addicted ever since. Here are a few items I’d like to snag from them right now.Call it a little retail therapy.
Here are a few of the things I have been coveting lately.
Pencil Dress by Asos Collection~ I want this dress. With the below the knee length, pooch concealing pleats and elbow length sleeves it is a perfect dress for my office. It even comes in a beautiful coral color. Unfortunately they are out of my size. The only option would be to take out my sewing machine and make one. Mind you it may be guaranteed to fit well, but I would never be able to bring it in at the sale price of $33. Yikes! Too bad they only have small sizes left. Ugh! What’s a gal to do?
Cloche~ I love hats. Buy them often but don’t wear them nearly enough. I tend to have a fondness for the cloche. However my friends insist my frame demands a large brim.
iPhone covers~ I may have to begin trading phone covers out like purses if I keep finding ones I like so much. Besides it is a fashion illustration. Enough said. This is the current favorite I am sporting by a fabulous illustrator.
Shoes~ Even though I’m no longer supposed to wear heels I can’t seem to resist them….and seriously anything leopard or Zebra would be fun.
I was purusing Gruau: Portraits of Men by Réjane Bargiel . René Gruau became one of the most respected and influential fashion illustrators between the 1950s-80s. Though known for his expressive images of women, this book explores the artist’s portraits of men, which redefined the modern idea of confident, masculine elegance.
For me the cover art serves as the inspiration for an easy breezy must have outift.

And in case you were wondering this is what would be playing in my ears.
