Man in the Moon

There is only one poem I have memorized by heart. I was a freshman, he a senior. One evening we sat in front of the high school talking, listening to “forever young” and watching the Harvest moon explode over the horizon.

Following on my birthday he wrote me a letter promising to try not to be sarcastic or obnoxious all day. Included was this Poem. I don’t remember if he succeeded not to be obnoxious but I do remember the Man & the Moon.

Sketchbook Project

Years ago I found my way through cyberspace to the Art House Co-op. They had an inspiring project-Your life in snapshots. For $20 they sent you a disposable camera to take pictures of your life. I never sent mine back but the project was a creative kick for me.

So now inspired by their Sketchbook Project 2012 I have decided to modify the idea for another personal creative jumpstart. This year the sketchbook project lets you choose from 38 themes or have a theme randomly chosen for you. I plan to do a sketch for each of the themes and post them on my site in a random order (read here-As inspiration on a theme strikes).

 Themes:

  • I remember you
  • The last of the people I know
  • In fifty years
  • Ask me how I can help
  • The first ever…
  • Hope
  • In 10 minutes
  • Along the line
  • Grey side of life
  • Fill me with stories
  • Things found under car seats
  • Untitled
  • Travel with me
  • Forever in a nutshell
  • Disasters
  • This is a sketchbook
  • The worst story ever told
  • Fears and tears
  • The companion book

I think I will count my post the Man in the Moon  as the first one, I remember you, at least for now. I know cheating already…tisk tisk!

This is where your help is needed. I want suggestions of themes for the random choice category. So if you have any ideas please let me know.

P.S. I plan to make a $25 donation to the project even though I am not directly participating as thank you for their contribution of inspiration.
