Lost in Translation

He’d certainly want acknowledgement for his overture; flowers meant to whitewash their fight.

These’ll fix everything”, she could hear his absurdity.

As if.

Besides, he knew she kept her personal life out of the office. A bouquet full of Birds-of-Paradise screamed passive-aggressive. Could he have topped off the delivery with balloons, made his fuck-you more resounding? She was definitely dating the wrong guy.

Thankfully her assistant took care of it. Disposed of them in the break-room, out of sight…

Her business partner approached. “Were any flowers delivered? My husband said he sent me a bouquet for our anniversary.”

Oh Shit.

It’s been years since I’ve last participated on these. I forgot what a challenge  and delight they are. Trying to get back to writing and posted a little more often.
