Friday Fictioneers is here! I should say I’m here. It’s been a long while since I’ve written one of these. If you interested check out Rochelle’s website for instructions. But please consider yourself forewarned, it’s addictive.

Kindred Spirits
“Wish I may, Wish I might, Grant me this wish I wish tonight” rang in unison. Lying crown to crown they counted the shooting stars raining across the summer sky.
“What’d you wish for?”
“Can’t tell! Then it won’t come true.”
“Best friends are exempt. “
“Fine. I want Gilbert to kiss me.”
Me too, I thought shyly.
“You make a lovely Anne, you know. Red hair suits you.”
“Thanks. You’re a pretty terrific Gilbert.”
“Girls, Come on. It’s time for ACT II.”
Giggling, braids gleaning under the night sky they arose.
“Hey, tomorrow let’s look for Nessie!”
“You’re on.”

This made me smile. albeit a sad smile.
Dear Dana,
It’s good to see you back. Such a sweet story. I can hear them giggling.
Shalom,
Rochelle
A well-crafted story! I smiled when I read your first line; I really liked the mantra. Thank you!
I like their imagination, I’m sure they will find Nessie. Great take on the prompt.
Sweet scene, but I lost track of the speakers with the internal dialogue line. One of the girls was playing “Gilbert?” and the second girl wanted her kiss?
Such a lovely story.
Ah.. it was quite a while.. nice to see you back.. the dialogue was wonderful, and the connection to the picture just like that little hint..
