Dana, I lost track of you a while back and today took the time to revisit your blog and try to catch up. I love your posts about Australia! What a wonderful writer you are. Your posts make me want to hop the next plane to Oz 🙂 We have friends in Perth and I’m embarrassed to say we have not visited them … yet. It’s something we talk about, but I’ll admit just the idea of 14+ hours on a plane makes my legs cramp. Earlier this year, I flew from Atlanta to Seattle and I thought that flight was too long … imagine me trying to fly across the globe.
I hope you are recovering well from your latest surgery. My heart goes out to you. I’ve been under the knife too many times myself. The last time, I was much like you … almost preferring to risk everything rather than go through that fear and pain again. The worst for me was the fear … fear of pain, fear of the unknown. Definitely a situation where I prefer to not have such a vivid imagination.
I do hope you are feeling better. And that you can soon return to Oz and maybe even Noice 😉
Go. Now. Get on the plane to OZ. It is worth the torture of the long flight. I recommend however flying Hawaiian Airlines with a layover in Honolulu to break the trip u a bit. And wear compression socks. Best advice I got from a friend that frequently flies long distances.
I am recovery well. Even been able to break some of my previous dietary restrictions (insert glazzzed Doooonuts!) without too must negative consequence. I’m glad I got it done. Now that I’m on the other side I understand how necessary it was.
I hope to have another Australia post soon. I hope to have a few more posts soon. That is once my creative spark returns. She seems to hibernate during recovery. I hope she returns soon.
