I Really Needed A Poem
Oh, Give me a poem where the beat doesn’t roam
Where the lines and the stanzas do play
Where sonnet’s sublime and the antonyms rhyme
and pentameters more than okay
A Poem! A Poem!
Where the lines and the stanzas do play
Where sonnet’s sublime and the antonyms rhyme
and pentameters more than okay
Oh, Make it a poem that could fill up a tome
where the limericks funny to say
where meter stays put where its feet not a foot
and the ballad runs on night & day
A Poem! A Poem!
Where the lines and the stanzas do play
Where sonnet’s sublime and the antonyms rhyme
and pentameters more than okay
May it cut through crap like an anthem of rap
Have us pounding away every verse
Recite Lyrical prose, no more cons but all pros
Till they wheel us away in our hearse
Where the lines and the stanzas do play
Where sonnet’s sublime and the antonyms rhyme
and pentameters more than okay
I hope you sang this out loud aka Home on the Range as was the intent. Double Trouble and I met for coffee yesterday. I lamented being poem-less, so we banged out this little ditty. Only 17 more to go. OY! Is this NaPoWriMo hump day or what?
Feel free to add your own verse. We need at least three more to make it official.
I sang the whole poem! 🙂
Yay! That was the idea. We were having a little fun at coffee.
