I haven’t had the oompf again this week for blogging. And couldn’t force myself to participate in NaNoWriMo even though I knew exactly what I’d write. That confessed, I simply couldn’t pass up Friday Fictioneers. It has become my weekly reprieve. The creative exercise I have to get me over the hump.
In case this is your first time, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields posts a weekly photo prompt. Writers from all over the world come together to write a 100 word story, poem, or whatever tickles their imagination that week. Then we share them with one another (click here).

Perspective
I admire ornamentations, the little details on buildings that most people never notice. So entering the medical building our eyes met.
Steve and I were determined to start a family, even if it required fertility treatments. We debated in the waiting room. He was convinced it was Mercury’s visage looking upon us. A good omen as Mercury’s love bore two children. I knew it was Minerva; medicine and magic in tall order.
“Uterine Cancer”, Dr. Levin informed, our hopes dashed.
“I’m wrong” Steve whispered, unimaginable the thought of Mercury coming to take me to hell, “Minerva’s come to wage war.”
