Ground into sand

Lungs burning into blackness

Undoing

Unfolding

Unending

Heavy lessons

Tangle me from below

The weight of past regrets

briny tears

bruise bone deep

Translucent skin

The siren’s song

Calling out

Stay afloat

Keep your head

Above the crashing waves

Stay afloat

Keep breathing

Stay afloat

 

But I grow weary

With every gasp

Resolve fleeting

The strength of my vessel

surrenders
